Justice for All

From Wisconsin to New Hampshire, right-wing politicians and big business are trying to take away workers’ rights. This wave of anti-union legislation raises the question—why do the billionaires and the corporations who have benefited the most from our economy think they should profit even more at the expense of working people?  At a time when the rich are getting richer, jobs are being shipped overseas, and corporations receive massive tax breaks while public programs are cut, many of us have to work two or even three jobs just to pay rent and to put food on the table.

More than ever, working people need to organize in their communities and make their voices heard.  That’s why in Boston and other cities across the country, SEIU members are joining forces with community allies to knock on thousands of doors, reaching out to workers who are feeling left behind and giving them a chance to be heard.  We need to continue to organize and stand up to the big corporations and their political allies and demand an economy that works for everyone, not just a tiny minority at the top!

Fighting for Good, Full-Time Jobs

In February, over 500 members gathered at Copley Plaza in Boston to march for good, full time jobs.  Decent employment allows workers to support their families without having to work two or three jobs and to spend more time with their loved ones.  We were joined by state legislators and members of the Boston City Council.  After meeting with several Local 615 members, the Boston City Council delivered a joint letter to the largest building owner in Downtown Boston calling for the creation of more full time work.
